The rooms were very spacious and clean. The breakfasts were excellent particularly the bacon and eggs. However I have never had to pay to park my car at a hotel anywhere in the uk. This cost me £7.50 per night and because of this would not book this hotel again unless I was desperate.

Thank you for your review and rating. I am sorry that you were disappointed with the car parking fee, like many large establishments we do charge a fee to cover the cost of operating such a large area and we felt it fairer to only charge if the car park is used and not add this cost onto each room rate. We do detail the cost where ever possible on all websites so that guests are aware of this prior to making a reservation. Thank you again for your feedback and best wishes.

Convenient for M4/J24 for Newport

Pros: Leisure Centre, Good sized rooms
Cons: General refurbishment is required and has commenced. Quality of the hot breakkfast
Location: M4/J24 - convenient for Newport and Tredegar House
This Hotel was taken over by Celtic Manor from Hilton Hotels several months ago. Major refurbishments are in progress. Our Room was fine and overall good value for money, meeting the normal Hilton standards. I declined the upgrade to "experience Celtic Manor" standards. The Leisure Centre was unchanged except for the name - now "Springs". The cold breakfast buffet was fine but the hot food was cold at 9.45 - last orders 10am. I asked for it to be microwaved and I noticed that a couple of other people did too. We were disappointed by this and if the Celtic Manor's standards are to be satisfied this will need to change. I did mention this at the desk at check out. The Manager was otherwise occupied with the Fire Brigade who were testing the alarms! Not recommended at present - time will tell when the refurbishments are complete and the new room rates have been established

Family stay

Pros: Very friendly. Convenient location. Very clean. Good food with good selection
Cons: Décor is a bit tired
Location: Excellent position to visit South Wales, Bristol and South West England
I booked a family room as I was picking up my 2 year grandson. He loved the room. Staff went the extra mile to accommodate the needs of a toddler.
