Good location near the train station and shopping areas.
The room was nicely decorated, reasonably spacious and clean.
Staff were helpful and pleasant

I am lucky to travel the world and stay in different hotels, but this hotel, well, I won't be staying here ever again!
Need to sort the directions to get to the nearby car park. Very difficult to get to! Hotel its self is very outdated, trying to go for an industrial/urban look, but it doesn't work, the iron bars in the room are just vulgar. The bathrooms seriously need a new design/makeover, the bar lacked any atmosphere.

Great room, comfortable - as expected for a standard double.
Bar food was awful and poor value for money - wish we'd gone out but the rain was torrential!
Friendly pleasant staff but just not customer centric. On check in, the receptionist was adamant I hadn't clicked on a room upgrade option and was not going to listen to or believe me (top tip - screen shot the submission page!).
In the bar, we ordered a large glass of red and rose wine; on sitting down we saw an offer "buy 2 glasses and get the rest of the bottle" - on asking we were told we had to drink the same wine...had we have been told about the offer at the bar, we may have had the same! Basic customer service? That said, we got given a large glass of rose for the price of a medium in the second round to make up for it.
The burger / drinks offer for £19.95 - you both had to have the same single burger on offer. Totally inflexible, despite there being other CHEAPER burgers on the menu than the one
We ended up with a slider burger and chips for £17 (3 small taster burgers 😵) and the most tasteless coronation chicken pitta ever encountered. This came with "game chips" - so we're in the UK -chips are hot right? Not here, it was a few lousy crisps. Come on Malmaison...!
The waitress was lovely and I suspect it's hotel policy that made the whole bar experience incredibly frustrating and not great to be honest. The breakfast experience more than made up for the disappointment of the evening before.
