45 min walk out of York. Quite old hotel. Understaffed - poor staff running around trying to do everything they could

Great complimentary amenities provided upon request. Clean and comfortable room. Just a couple of things would have made it perfect: our room bin wasn’t changed one day, the radiator was difficult to turn down and the telephone wasn’t working.

Friendly staff from reception, room service to restaurant and bar throughout our stay. Bathroom would have preferred hand gel soap to a bar of soap. Bottom of door inside and out flaking paint at the bottom. Kettle in room looking ‘old’ dirty around spout so could do with replacing. Bed very comfortable.

Bedroom needed a deep clean. Shower drain was easy for my son to lift off and was disgusting be underneath. We stayed for 2 nights but all they did on 1 at night was make bed and empty bins. Glasses weren't taken away etc
