"Pingyao throws you back a couple centuries and this hotel happily keeps you in theme. We loved it - but it’s not for everyone. If you are seeking a 5* resort experience and are particular about everything, this isn’t your place. If you’re a bit more laid back and like the idea of a super charming old-timey China experience then you’re in the right place. Know the beds are super firm, ha, but no problem for any of the 4 of us (parents and teenagers). The host and owner Sara is a joy, helpful, and speaks English."
