Hotel nice and clean . Staff great .road to hotel need resurfacing due to potholes . Only.thing I think the hotel need is modernisation .but despite that lovely hotel .would recommend .

Close to town

A comfortable hotel, reasonably priced and close to the town centre with plenty of parking. The restaurant is a pleasant room but the menu is not terribly exciting, although the food is fine. I would recommend Tillington Hall.

Stafford's long-serving hotel and venue

Pros: Staff greet you with a smile and are ready to help wherever they can.
Cons: Her communal areas will at some point require a spruce-up. Her owners, Best Western, might also consider asphalting the access road (potholes).
Location: Stafford remains a semi-rural market town, served by a number of parks and attractions although you will need a car.
Booked early via TripAdv and enjoyed a great Xmas price. Tillington Hall has been serving Stafford for many decades. She has weathered pressure from numerous recessions and the new chains, and probably because of this she is not five-star standard, but she has kept afloat and rightly so as she still provides good service at a good price, plus holds many memories for many people.

Better than I was expecting

After reading lots of negative reviews I was reluctant to stay at this hotel but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the staff on reception were very pleasant and very obliging, the room was again very good although both the soap dispensers In the bathroom needed a good scrub, on the whole though the room was lovely. I cannot comment on the breakfast as I was room only and thought £9.95 was a little steep for breakfast compared with competitors.

Average for an above average price

Everything about the hotel was OK but just OK. However the price was more than I would usually expect to pay for a normal "budget" hotel.

One night away

A bit odd hotel being redecorated and no attempt made to put on a good show no table cloths on tables and due to renovations the dining area sparse and not inviting menus not brill and breakfast really not good

Disappointed

It was unfortunate the hotel was in the middle of decorating howevever little touches would have helped like flowers in the dining area table clothes on the tables pictures on some walls The food was disappointing for vegetarians a choice of 2 compared to a choice of 15 for fish and meat eaters breakfast was fair help yourself even the coffee machine Maybe early days. I felt the staff were new and did not know what to do and needed some training
