Very pleasant walk & welcome!

We were walking from Oxford to the The Source of the Thames and this was the first stop. The walk was slightly further than we anticipated (closer to 19 miles rather than 16) so we arrived after dark and missed dinner (the menu looked really nice and reasonably priced), but the staff were very welcoming! Fantastic clean & comfy room overlooking the river with nice duvet and big fluffy pillows! Breakfast was very nice and the day manager from Cheshire was a star! Highly recommended!

Noisy and no hot water

A live jazz band performing under my room was rather noisy till fairly late and no hot water in the morning meant a cold shower - with no internal telephone in the room and no mobile signal I couldn't tell staff. Apparently the rooms are on a separate system and it often stops working - surely staff should check it if they know it's temperamental ?
